CRoNOTRON

CRONOTRON is an expression of deep personal struggle in textile and mixed medium bed landscapes. Pieces in this series spring from the despair, isolation, pain, and blood of chronic illness; evoking both grief and gratefulness.

Two more pieces are already in process, one will feature the sailing scape embroidery below.

Embroidery Fine Art of a Cat and Legs under a blanket on a bed
A fabric fine art piece of a bed with a map of the Tokyo subway, blanket, sheet and bloody area
A fabric fine art piece in a frame with grey sheets, a red dot emerging from beneath the blankets and fabric tray with a cup of steaming tea

UKON

A series in sumi and mixed media, UKON explores the next evolution of a shadowy being that protects the inner child. Both abhorrent and steadfast, Ukon is reluctant to leave their cave. As they envelope the child, muting pain and fear, an absorption takes place. Ukon is still part of the self, and all the toxic grievousness of its form are the result of purification; but they cannot purge the dark, only contain and control it in service of the self.

What will Ukon exposed to the light of day reveal?

Pastel of a mysterious dark figure in a cave. The entrance of the cave has a pretty gradient of sunset or sunrise and a crack crosses the image.
A Japanese ink brush painting of a mysterious dark figure in a cave facing the entrance of the cave.
Charcoal tracing of mysterious dark figure in a cave standing in front of the entrance of the cave. A crack crosses the whole image.
In progress sumi ink painting of a mysterious dark figure in a cave. The entrance of the cave is outlined in blue paint tape. A crack, created with crosses the image spangled paper tape crosses the image.
